ST has paid $7 million for the company with a deferred payment contingent on unnamed conditions that ST estimates will be about $1 million.

Atollic’s flagship product, TrueStudio Pro, is a C/C++ compiler and debugger development suite that supprts ARM7, ARM9 and Cortex-A, R and M up to and including dual- and multi-core implementations.

The acquisition is a continuation of ST’s present “tuck-in” merger and acquisition strategy where it is seeking to buy-in expertise and intellectual property to reinforce its existing business groups. ST’s previous acquisition was of NFC and RFID assets from AMS in 2016.
