手臂已经启动ed its first pre-validated sub-system using its Cortex-A processor core for embedded systems using Linux.

The ARM Total Solution for Cloud Native Edge Devices is based on the Corstone-1000 sub-system (above) to support IoT developers using the Linux operating system. This allows application-class workloads to be developed for devices such as gateways and high-end smart cameras.

The first Corstone-1000 sub-system combines the A32 core with a Cortex-M microcontroller for cloud-based networking designs This includes a hardware secure enclave that supports PSA Certified for a higher level of security. This allows developers to use the software eco-system being developed as part of ARM’s Project Cassini and virtual hardware.

One of the first users is German networking equipment maker Hilscher for its custom ASIC devices. “ARM’s Corstone-1000 provides the foundation for a highly secure SoC platform, helping us dedicate design resources to developing flexibly programmable IPs that meet the needs of future TSN-powered gigabit ethernet networks for industrial automation markets,” said Nico Mäding, Department Manager, SoC/ASIC Design at Hilscher.

The aim is also to give IoT chip designers early access to virtual hardware and cloud-based development tools.

“We believe the accelerating pace of software development for IoT is on par with web and mobile applications. IoT developers need end–to-end DevOps solutions to rapidly develop, test and deploy new connected services. ARM Virtual Hardware empowers developers to test software for Arm-powered IoT devices directly in the cloud and build on GitLab’s proven Enterprise DevOps Platform, utilizing the same development, continuous integration and delivery tools used by millions of developers,” said Nima Badiey, VP of Global Alliances, GitLab.
