Vesper Technologies Inc. (Boston, Mass.) has introduced its second-generation of analog piezoelectric voice accelerator; the VA1210.

The VA1210 offers higher sensitivity (+17 dB) and higher (+6 dB) SNR than the VA1200 introduced in April 2021 (seePiezoelectric bone conduction sensor targets earbuds)。它增加了Wake-on-Voice (WoV)和硬件的声音activity detection (HVAD) features.

The improved specification provides an improvement in voice quality in earbuds, AR glasses and True Wireless Stereo (TWS).

Wake on Voice

With WoV, the VA1210 can continuously monitor the TWS wearer for voice activity via bone conduction while consuming 10 microamps of current.

In addition to being used as a bone conduction microphone, the VA1210 can be used as an accelerometer for detecting vibration in IoT, automotive and industrial applications. These can include large area touch sensing, machine monitoring, leak detection and more. The VA1210 comes in the same package as the VA1200; measuring 2.90mm by 2.76mm by 0.9mm. The VA1210 has differential analog output allowing. It is reflow solder compatible with no sensitivity degradation.
