Infineon aims for climate neutral operation in 2030
Infineon is aiming to be climate neutral by 2030, highlighting its position a just one of three semiconductor companies in the Dow Jones Sustainability Europe index.

Globally, the index includes just nine semiconductor companies, with Taiwanese foundries TSMC and UMC, packaging firm ASE and WIN Semiconductors in the list last year. Vanguard Microelectronics and Nanya Technology were added last week.
“Infineon has been included for the twelfth time in a row in the group of the world’s most sustainable companies. That honours our continuous work in the interest of climate protection,” said Constanze Hufenbecher, Chief Digital Transformation Officer at Infineon.

Infineon aims to be 100 percent climate-neutral from 2030, and has already switched its entire power consumption in Europe to generation from renewable energies in 2021. This includes the new fab at Villach.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index is regarded as one of the most important benchmarks for sustainability and lists the world’s leading companies from 61 industries. The assessment is based on the companies’ economic, environmental and social performance.
